This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone using OrderSail and is part of the Terms of Service. Because OrderSail moves payments on your behalf through Stripe Connect, this list also reflects the categories Stripe requires its platforms to enforce.
Prohibited businesses & goods
You may not use OrderSail to sell, list, or facilitate the sale of:
- Illegal goods or services under applicable law, including controlled substances and drug paraphernalia
- Firearms, ammunition, and weapons, including parts and accessories
- Counterfeit or unauthorized-replica goods, or goods that infringe someone else’s intellectual property
- Adult content or services without verified age-gating and required licensing
- Gambling, betting, or sweepstakes without the required licenses in every jurisdiction served
- Multi-level marketing, pyramid, or Ponzi-style schemes
- Unregistered securities, investment or credit-repair schemes, or debt collection without required licensing
- Sale of hazardous materials, or products subject to recall
This list is a starting point, not exhaustive — it's checked against Stripe's own published restricted-businesses list, which controls where the two differ.
Prohibited activities
Regardless of what you sell, you may not:
- Fraud, or facilitating fraud, including misrepresenting what’s being sold or who’s selling it
- Money laundering or structuring transactions to evade reporting requirements
- Circumventing or attempting to circumvent Stripe’s or OrderSail’s risk and compliance controls
- Infringing another party’s intellectual property, trademark, or publicity rights
- Abusing the OrderSail API: excessive request rates, scraping, or attempting to access data outside your account
- Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of OrderSail systems without authorization
- Reselling or sublicensing access to the Service without our written agreement
Enforcement
Violating this policy can result in a warning, a temporary suspension, or permanent termination of your account, at OrderSail's discretion and depending on severity. Payment-related violations may also be reported to Stripe, which can independently restrict or terminate the connected Stripe account. Where practical, we'll tell you what triggered the action and how to appeal it.
